About The Last of Us
The Last of Us follows smuggler Joel as he escorts fourteen-year-old Ellie across a United States transformed by a fungal pandemic. Its third-person combat combines firearms, improvised weapons, stealth and scarce resources with a character-focused journey.
Naughty Dog developed the game specifically for PlayStation 3, building a new dramatic property after years of work on Uncharted. Performance capture, environmental storytelling and the evolving relationship between Joel and Ellie became central to its identity.
Released in June 2013, the original version included the Factions multiplayer mode. It established the narrative and gameplay foundation later revisited by The Last of Us Remastered and rebuilt in The Last of Us Part I.
