About Song So Mi
Song So Mi, better known as Songbird, is an exceptional netrunner and one of the central figures of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Recruited into the NUSA’s Federal Intelligence Agency while still young, she became an invaluable intelligence asset and a trusted specialist serving President Rosalind Myers. Her abilities allow her to operate at a level few netrunners can match, but that usefulness comes with severe personal and physical costs.
Songbird contacts V after Space Force One is attacked over Dogtown, offering help with the Relic in exchange for rescuing Myers. The resulting operation draws V into a web involving Solomon Reed, Alex, Kurt Hansen and the FIA. Songbird’s plans, disclosures and requests change as the story unfolds, making trust the central question of her relationship with V.
Her condition is tied to repeated contact with systems beyond the Blackwall. Phantom Liberty presents this not merely as extraordinary power but as exploitation by the state and a progressive threat to her identity. Player choices determine whether V helps her pursue escape, hands her back to the FIA or follows other outcomes; no single branch should be treated as the universal canonical ending.
Songbird is performed in English by Minji Chang. Official Phantom Liberty material positions her alongside Reed, Myers and Hansen as one of the expansion’s core dossier characters, while her visual design changes across present-day and flashback sequences to reflect the extent of her cybernetic transformation.
